Jersey Mikes_SNAP pic 3Each day, the staff at SNAP Financial Stability Services work to help clients build their credit, manage their money, buy their first home and start new businesses. On May 31, employees also learned the value of investing in a delicious lunch, courtesy of Jersey Mike’s. Owner Jeff Gates and Operations Manager Nikki Roberts made a special delivery to the office at the East Central Community Center and were warmly greeted by a thankful crew who dug into the meal of scrumptious subs, chips and cookies. “Sharing what you do best makes our community stronger and Jersey Mike’s treated us to beautiful lunch,” said Chris Pasterz, Financial Stability Services manager. “We appreciate the creative and delicious support in helping to us to continue doing our great work in the community.” Jersey Mikes_SNAP pic 5Surrounded by clippings of business success stories in a classroom area, Gates told SNAP employees how he and his wife had decided to pursue ownership in Jersey Mike’s after considering several entrepreneurial options. The uniqueness of the product turned out to be the deciding factor. “We were just so impressed with the quality of Jersey Mike’s,” Gates said. This was the second in-kind donation from Jersey Mike’s to SNAP this year. In April, Jeff and Nikki provided lunch to the agency’s Homeless Services office in downtown Spokane. SNAP has served as the nonprofit community action agency for Spokane County since 1966 and offers over 30 programs to help low-income residents achieve greater financial stability. “These donated lunches have been such a unique boost,” said SNAP CEO Julie Honekamp. “It’s just very nice to see a company like Jersey Mike’s go out of their way to honor our employees who really deserve appreciation for their efforts. It’s clear that Jersey Mike’s really walks the talk when it comes to supporting community causes. We’re very grateful.”
