A special program is now available to help Spokane County homeowners who are currently unable to pay their mortgage due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. We know the past year has been difficult. The pandemic damaged the global economy and created varying forms of hardship for nearly everyone on earth, but now we are excited to offer real financial help with up to 6 months of mortgage payments covered to help you to keep your home!
County Residents Only
This program is available until CARES act funds are exhausted, but it is only for Spokane County residents outside the City of Spokane. Qualifiying households include those who live in the following areas: Airway Heights, Cheney, Deer Park, Elk, Fairfield, Freeman/Mica, Latah, Liberty Lake (officially incorporated in 2001), Medical Lake, Millwood, Rockford, Spangle, Spokane Valley (officially incorporated in 2003) and Waverly.
Requirements of the County Mortgage Payment Assistance Program
This program is intended for county residents adversely affected by COVID-19 and unable to afford their mortgage payments at no fault of their own. Missed payments prior to April 2020 are not considered pandemic-related. Only those who are currently past due on payments are eligible. We have mortgage counselors ready to take your calls and connect you to the resources necessary to improve your situation as soon as possible. The requirements of this program are as follows:
- Past due payments up to 6 months
- Delinquency occurring after April 1, 2020
- One-on-one counseling from a SNAP mortgage expert
