SNAP HOSTS 2024 DAD’S DAY DASH AT RIVERFRONT PARK

Over 300 enthusiastic participants crossed the finish line at the 12th Annual Dad’s Day Dash on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Riverfront Park. The race, organized by SNAP, raises funds to support families and individuals in the Spokane community.
“This event exemplifies the community spirit and generosity that SNAP thrives on,” said SNAP Interim Philanthropy Manager and Race Director Nicole Bishop.
The Dad’s Day Dash featured a 5K run and a 1-mile fun run. Participants also enjoyed making Father’s Day cards, playing games, face painting, and DJ music. Kids received free superhero capes and masks, courtesy of SNAP.
Last year, SNAP positively impacted over 53,000 individuals through programs like energy assistance, home repair, rental assistance, affordable housing, homeless services, and small business development.
The Dad’s Day Dash is SNAP’s second-largest fundraiser of the year. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. returned as the event’s title sponsor for the 12th consecutive year. Community sponsors included Arby’s, Arcora Foundation, Gee Automotive, Children’s Choice Pediatric Dentistry, McKinstry, Mainstream Electric, Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing, Divine’s Auto Repair, and Northwest Orthopedic Specialists. In-kind contributions were received from Fleet Feet Spokane, Negative Split, Yoke’s Fresh Market, Wisconsinburger, The Coalition – Fitness Community, Big 5 Sporting Goods, and various gift card donors.
“This race provides SNAP with critical and flexible resources to support those in need throughout our community,” added Bishop.
SNAP is a 501c3 not-for-profit serving Spokane County residents who strive to exit poverty and build a better life. All proceeds from this event directly benefit SNAP’s mission to increase the human potential of our community by providing opportunities for people in need.
