SNAP is currently searching for clients to participate as members of our Client Advisory Council.
The SNAP Client Advisory Council will help SNAP improve how it serves the community. The Council will do this by providing helpful advice on services, policies, what clients may need, technology tools, and other agency needs.

Skills Needed on Committee
Council members should have experience using services from SNAP, SNAP Financial Access or SNAP Resource Rides. Council members should feel comfortable offering helpful advice in a variety of areas.
Training will be provided to all Client Advisory Council members while it starts and as needed.
Specific Tasks
- Help review services to ensure they meet community and client needs.
- Review new technology tools and offer feedback for improvements.
- Help make connections to other community groups and neighborhoods.
- Provide feedback on SNAP’s advocacy agenda.
- Help SNAP complete its Community Needs Assessment.
- Offer helpful advice on client policies.
- Provide input on projects, issues, policies.
Time Commitment
Ten, one-and-a-half hour monthly meetings throughout the year. A minimum two-year commitment is requested with the opportunity to continue. Additional time may be needed to complete projects or attend community events.
Perks
Transportation, Child Care, and Council Stipend:
SNAP will provide Client Advisory Council members bus passes and/or assistance with transportation if needed. SNAP will also work with Council members to arrange child care if needed.
In recognition of the skills and time commitment of each member, SNAP will provide a stipend for each Council meeting attended.

PROPOSED TIMELINE: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
HOW WILL COUNCIL MEMBERS BE SELECTED: A team of employees from different programs in the agency will meet to review interest forms. This team will look at:
- Interest in the council
- Selecting members from a variety of backgrounds and Spokane County neighborhoods
- Selecting members from a variety of SNAP program areas.
