The Rural Rental Assistance Program (RRAP)

The Rural Rental Assistance Program (RRAP) is designed to help homeless families move into permanent housing by providing a partial rental subsidy, coupled with case management, for one year.

To be eligible, families must:

  • be active in the homeless program
  • have acceptable rental history
  • have a qualifying income
  • live within Spokane County

During the year, participants work on increasing their income so they can pay full rent at the time of program completion. Participants also work toward any other goals that would contribute towards their self-sufficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have pets on RRAP?

Participants are responsible for locating their own unit and are encouraged to find a landlord that allows pets, if they desire.

What if I don't want case management anymore?

You would then be responsible for paying the rent in full.

Can I stay in my existing housing?

You may remain in your current rental unit if it passes an inspection and fits Fair Market Rent. The RRAP program does not pay for past rent due.
