The homeless rural team provides SNAP homeless services in the county areas in the form of:
- case management
- housing information, referrals and resources
The team can meet with singles, although there are no housing opportunities available.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the outreach team provide energy assistance or utility shut-off assistance?
No, energy assistance appointments are made through the energy assistance line at 242-2376 and utility shut-off appointments are made through SNAP’s Spokane neighborhood offices. Call the SNAP administration office at 456-7111 for the SNAP office nearest you.
Do I still need to go to the East SNAP office to apply for the homeless program?
No, not if you will be meeting with the rural team at one of the rural locations.
Can I receive case management even if I'm not homeless?
Yes. The rural outreach team will be glad to assist individuals or families with referrals and resources.
