Neighborhood Assets for You

Neighborhood Assets is a partnership between SNAP, Numerica Credit Union and Washington State Employees Credit Union which provides access to affordable financial services for lower income and unbanked people, along with the financial literacy training needed to help them successfully achieve their goals. We believe that accessible financial services need to accommodate those who have very little money, those who are denied accounts, and those who have had bad experiences with banks in the past.

Neighborhood Assets offers:

  • Financial counseling and money management classes.
  • For those who qualify, traditional memberships in Numerica Credit Union and Washington State Employees Credit Union, including savings and checking accounts, debit, credit and ATM cards, loans, and other financial services.
  • Provisional credit union memberships designed for people who have been denied a bank account, including a savings account and a reconciliation process for earning back full membership.
  • Access to a computer for online banking and online bill pay.
  • A $50.00 matched savings program for the first 50 lower income people that open an account through Neighborhood Assets that were previously unbanked. This program is designed to get people in the habit of saving for the things they want and need.

Neighborhood Assets is open Mondays and Thursdays, 1:30 – 4:30 pm, in SNAP’s downtown office at 212 S. Wall St. For more information call 456- 7378.
