For some, a small business can provide an increased income for your family as well as a valuable asset that can be passed down to your children or sold in future years. ACCESS works with low and moderate-income people wanting to start a business as well as those wanting to expand or enhance an existing business. Services include:
Training
Our intensive program of classes and workshops cover the key parts of evaluating a business idea and running a business. Topics include self-assessment, pricing, financial analysis, marketing, and bookkeeping. Participants are given assignments to help them research their business and guide them through developing their own business plans. A pre-application is required.
Business Counseling
The business professionals at ACCESS provide one-on-one guidance as you develop your idea, research information, and assemble your business plan. We can provide referrals to mentors, student assistants, and other outside resources. We also continue to advise you during the early years of your business’s growth.
Financial Assistance Through ACCESS and its partners, you can apply for a small business loan (in amounts ranging from $500-$25,000) to help with start up or expansion costs. While we are much more flexible than a bank, we do give consideration to your plan, your work history, your credit history, and your collateral in making lending decisions.
