Please work with your heating company to keep current on payments. Even if you have an appointment, you need to continue to work with your heating provider (e.g. utility) as well to stay current with your payment arrangements. The next round of energy assistance appointments will open on March 9 at 8:30 a.m.
A. Take a Conservation/Financial Education Class – Classes will be held once per week starting the first week of November. The classes will be held on a rotating basis at our main centers, and you can call any office to register for a class.
These classes give practical information for low-cost or no-cost energy conservation measures for your home as well as tips and resources for your financial fitness. For those who take the class and are income-eligible, there will be a limited number of heat assistance appointments given out. To sign up for a class, call one of the office locations below.
B. Project Share – If you have a heating emergency you may apply for Project Share. Project Share is a local fuel fund that is supported by donations from utilities and their customers. Project Share is available starting November 1st. You must have a shut-off notice and call the SNAP office that serves your zip code.
C. Senior Energy Assistance – Senior Energy Assistance is funded from fees collected through Avista's LIRAP program (Low-Income Rate Assistance Program). This program provides assistance for both heating and non-heating Avista expenses.
