Saturday Energy Assistance Repeated on March 14
SNAP has scheduled another Saturday opportunity for those seeking to set an Energy Assistance appointment in Spokane County. This has been done based on the success of a previous session held on February 14.
The SNAP phone lines for energy assistance will be accepting calls on Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The phone number is 242-2376.
“We received such positive comments about opening the lines on Saturday,” according to Margaret Belote, Director of SNAP’s Energy Assistance Program. “Those who work during the week and are unable to call on Tuesday or Thursday are urged to take advantage of this opportunity.”
SNAP phone lines are normally open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Tuesday-Thursday schedule will continue until funds are spent.
According to Belote, the current funds are expected to last through the month of May.
SNAP has already distributed help to 11,002 households in Spokane County with a dollar value of $5,407,040.
