Additional Day of Energy Assistance (one time only)
With the increased demand for energy assistance, SNAP has scheduled one additional day for those seeking to schedule an appointment. The SNAP phone lines for energy assistance will be accepting calls on Saturday, February 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The phone number is 242-2376.
“SNAP’s energy staff is presenting a Valentine gift to the community,” according to Margaret Belote, Director of the Energy Assistance Program. “We have additional dollars to distribute and we know the need is great.”
She emphasized the Saturday date is a one-time only occurrence.
SNAP phone lines are normally open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Tuesday-Thursday schedule will continue until funds are spent.
About 500 additional energy assistance appointments are expected to be made during the Saturday morning session.
SNAP has already distributed help to 6,665 households in Spokane County with a dollar value of $3,793,722.
